Changes to Paramount Parkour

News letter

Paramount Parkour are undergoing some huge changes to our structure. We have listened to our feedback and feel it’s now time for a change. We want to bring the fun back to Parkour but without losing our outstanding focus and control within the classes. In july we will be making huge changes to our

  1. grading system
  2. class format
  3. timetable and new classes
  4. What, when and how we teach

Grading system

Many students find it hard or may get stuck on certain tricks within our grading system we have now reduced and simplified each grade and made the focus of each grade less about individual tricks and more about movement itself. This will make it far easier to move along the system collecting grading tops along the way. Encouraging student to progress rather than our student getting down as one trick holds them back.

Our class format

As we want to encourage learning by having fun we have made some changes to our lesson plans

10 mins warm up

60 mins coaching

10 mins free time (self learning using gym)

10 mins conditioning (coaches may decide more or less depending on class focus)

The aim of this change is to allow students so freedom to become more creative and to have more fun at sessions.

What when and how we teach

To follow our new grading system we are changing what is being taught each week. We now will have Week A and week B.

Week A will be Traditional Parkour moving from A to B. moves like jumps pre’s cat grabs tic tacs wall runs vaults climbing swinging.

Week B will be Flips and tricks. So all your skill moves back front side flip wall flips palm spins, corks and so much more.

Week A 1st to the 7th

Week B 8th to the 14th

Week A 15th to the 21st

Week B 22nd to the 28th

Grading 29th to the 31st

Time table and new classes

From the 1st of August 2018 we are opening new classes. we currently only have beginner and intermediate classes we will be opening a separate advanced class. This will be our highest level class and students in this class will focus on much harder movements getting them closer to our elite team. Over the next few weeks the coaches will be looking at all students and deciding where they believe they need to be to get the best out of there training do not worry about your current level we will look at everyone. To attend the advanced class you need to attend 2 sessions a week min this is due to the level of tricks being taught we need students at more classes. We would advise at this level to attend 3 sessions per week.

In order to get the best out of the class we are recommending all students attend 2 sessions per week particularly intermediate class.

Please remember the skills we teach are the same difficulty as gymnastics  but parkour has many more tricks and techniques.

We have reduced our silver package to £50 from £60 a month and our gold from £90 to £75 per month to help and ensure all students can attend more sessions per week.

New timetable as of 1st Aug 2018
